The Aston Martin DB5 Coupe was introduced in 1963. The DB5 coupe was the most common variant of the DB5, as the Convertible (and Vantage versions) were much rarer. These famed sports cars were powered by a 4.0L straight six engine that had an output of 282hp. Drive was sent to the rear through a choice of two transmissions, the more common 5 speed ZF manual, or an available Borg Warner 3 speed automatic. A more powerful version of the DB5 coupe known as the DB5 Vantage Coupe was offered later in production. Aston Martin built the DB5 until 1965, when it was replaced by the Aston Martin DB6.
