When Aston Martin reintroduced the Vantage nameplate for the Second Generation Vantage, they did so with the V8 Vantage 4.3. As the first variant of the V8 Vantage to be released, the 4.3 is named for it's 4.3L V8 engine. This engine, known as the AJ37, generated 380hp, which was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual or optional 6 speed automated manual transmission. This new family of sports cars was initially ony available as a Coupe, but from the 2007 model year, a Roadster was also offered. The V8 Vantage 4.3 was built until 2008, when it was replaced by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.7.
