The BMW 550i was a variant of the F10 5 Series that was introduced for the 2010 model year. Apart from the F10 M5, the 550i was the most powerful variant offered by BMW for the F10 5 Series, with its power coming from BMW's N63B44 engine. When first launched, this 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine had an output of 402hp, but for the 2014 model year, it received a technical update which saw output increased to 444hp. BMW sold the 550i in Sedan, Touring, and Gran Turismo (liftback sedan) body styles, as well as with manual or automatic transmissions sending drive to the rear wheels. Production of the F10 550i ended in 2017 when BMW introduced the next generation G30 5 Series.
