The 8 Series is a series of grand tourers made by BMW. The original 8 Series, known as the E31, was introduced for the 1991 model year and built until 1999. The series name was then dormant until 2018, when BMW reintroduced the 8 Series. The second generation 8 Series is known as the G15. Unlike the first generation of 8 Series, the second generation featured a convertible and 4-door "Gran Coupe" in addition to the 2-door coupe.
