The BMW i8 is a mid engine sports car released in 2014. Featuring an advanced hybrid system, the i8 features a 1.5L turbocharged inline 3 engine paired with a 98kW electric motor. This futuristic car was the first mid-engined BMW since the legendary BMW M1. Originally introduced as a coupe, in 2018, BMW introduced an open top roadster variant. Production of the BMW i8 ended in 2020 with a total of 20,465 examples built.
