The third generation of BMW X5 was introduced for the 2014 model year. Known as the F15, the third generation was the first time BMW introduced a hybrid inline 4 engine into the X5 range with the X5 xDrive40e. The F15 also featured the X5 M variant, as well as an M-tuned diesel variant, the M50d. Built until 2018, the F15 was replaced by the G05 for the 2019 model year.
