BMW introduced the Z3 Coupe in 1998. The coupe was the second body style offered for the BMW Z3, and it was known internally at BMW by the code E36/8. Sporting its shooting brake styling, the Z3 coupe had a front mounted engine with power driving the rear wheels. Offered with a variety of inline four and inline six engines, the Z3 coupe was built in two variants, the Base Model, and a top of the line Z3 M Coupe, which was introduced in 1999.
