The second generation of Buick Special was introduced in 1949. The second generation Special saw updated styling and mechanicals. The second generation Special was available as a sedan, coupe, convertible, and station wagon, and was powered by a range of inline eight and V8 engines. Over the course of its production, the second generation Special saw regular updates to its styling and engines. The second generation Special was built until 1958 and was replaced by the Third Generation Buick Special.
