The first generation of Cadillac DeVille was introduced for the 1959 model year. The DeVille was a series of luxury coupes and sedans that were spun off from the Cadillac Series 62. The first generation of DeVille was offered in three hardtop bodies, and was fitted with a 6.4L V8 engine. Production of the 1st gen DeVille lasted until 1960, when it was replaced by the Second Generation Cadillac DeVille.
