The Cadillac Sixty Special was introduced in 1938. The Sixty Special name has long been used by Cadillac to denote their highest tier offering. The Sixty Special traces its roots to the Cadillac Series 60, and has always been produced as a four door model. Eleven generations of Sixty Special have been produced: 1st Gen (1938-1941), 2nd Gen (1942-1947), 3rd Gen (1948-1949), 4th Gen (1950-1953), 5th Gen (1954-1956), 6th Gen (1957-1958), 7th Gen (1959-1960), 8th Gen (1961-1964), 9th Gen (1965-1970), 10th Gen (1971-1976), and 11th Gen (1987-1993).
