The COPO Camaro was introduced in 2012 after demand for a track based 1/4 mile car. The 5th Gen Camaro capitalized on the early race history and back channel of the Central Office Production Order, that was used by those in the know to bend rules and get track based cars, ordered direct through Chevrolet starting back in 1968. This time around the COPO was stricly track based as they were developed with a roll cage and without a VIN. Each year 3 options of high horsepower motors were available with different transmissions. Chevrolet only made 69 units each year.
