These cars were used as the basis for a wide range of stock car racing, including NASCAR, where it was very successful. Due to this success, a number of Signature Editions named for racing drivers such as Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Production of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo ended in 2007.
