The third generation of Chevrolet Suburban debuted for the 1947 model year. This new generation of Suburban was based on the Chevrolet Advance Design pickups, and were powered by a 3.5L inline six engine. These rear wheel drive, two door wagons were available with panel or tailgate doors, and were in production until 1954. The third generation Suburban was replaced by the Fourth Generation Chevrolet Suburban in early 1955.
