The De Tomaso Pantera is an Italian mid engine sports car produced from 1971 until 1992. The Pantera was available in a few variants through the course of its production. These variants were the Base, the L, the GTS, the GT5, GT5-S, and Si. Early Panteras were somewhat common in the US as they were distributed through Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. Ford and De Tomaso ended their agreement in 1975, which saw De Tomaso wind down production of the Pantera. As the company shifted its production style, less cars were produced, and each took longer to complete. The car was no longer a mass production exotic, it was a hand-built, exclusive luxury grand tourer. In addition to road going versions, a range of Race Cars were built using the Pantera.
