The DMC Delorean was introduced in 1981 and was the only model made by the Delorean Motor Company. Also known as the DMC-12, the Delorean was intended to be a sports car. Designed by the famous Giorgetto Guigiaro, the Delorean certainly had the looks to be a sports car, with its sleek shape and gull-wing doors. Yet the Delorean's performance and on road capabilities did not match the expectations set by the design. Although it was only built until 1982, remaining examples were sold until 1983. The Delorean maintains a special place in the automotive world due to its use in the Back To The Future movies. These well known cars were available with both Manual and Automatic transmissions.
