The fifth generation Ford Bronco was introduced for the 1992 model year. This generation of Bronco saw the model receive a styling update, although mechanically, it was largely similar to its predecessor. The standard 4.9L inline six engine was used until 1994, while the 4.9L and 5.8L V8 options remained. Trims levels included XLT and Eddie Bauer editions. Production of the fifth generation lasted until 1996 when the model was discontinued. The Bronco name was put on hiatus until a new Sixth Generation Bronco was announced for the 2021 model year.
