The first generation of Ford Ranchero debuted for the 1957 model year. The Ranchero was exclusively offered in a coupe utility body style. These cars, which were effectively low-slung pickups, were powered by a variety of different engine options, including a 223ci I6, a 292ci V8, 312ci V8, or a 352ci V8. These engines were paired to a 3 speed manual, or 2 or 3 speed automatic transmission, with drive being sent to the rear wheels.
