The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake was a high performance package for the S-197 II Shelby Mustang that was introduced for the 2010 model year. The Super Snake package was offered on new S-197 II GT500's or offered as a post-purchase package, providing substantial increases in power and dynamic capabilities. Depending on the configuration, the 5.4L supercharged V8 engine had an output ranging from 660hp to 800hp, with power being sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual transmission. Both coupe and convertible versions of the S-197 II Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake were built.
