The second generation of the Jaguar XK debuted for the 2006 model year, and is known as the X150. Styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum, the X150's grille was also inspired from the famous 1961 E-Type. Available as a coupe or convertible, the 2nd Gen XK was built in two main variants, the XK, which was previously known as the XK8, and the performance focused XKR. The XK received a minor facelift in 2009, with minor alterations to front and rear lights and bumper designs, together with the introduction of a new 5.0-litre V8 for both the naturally aspirated XK8 and the supercharged XKR. In addition to the XK8 and XKR, Jaguar also built the limited edition XK-RS, high performance XKR-S, and the ultra rare XKR-S GT. Production of the Jaguar XK ended model year 2014, but some late production examples were sold into 2015.
