The Jeep Cherokee was first introduced in 1974. The first generation of Jeep Cherokee was known as the SJ, and was a range of full size SUVs. The SJ was available as a two or four door model, and was powered by a range of inline six or V8 engines. Notable variants of the Cherokee include the Chief, Golden Eagle, and Laredo. The Cherokee SJ was in production until 1983, and was replaced by the Jeep Cherokee XJ.
