Introduced for the 2012 model year, the Lexus LFA was a high performance supercar that was created to give the Lexus brand a halo car. These sleek, two door coupes were noted for their meticulous engineering, impressive performance, and their powerful engines. The LFA was fitted with Toyota's 1LR-GUE engine, which was a 553hp naturally aspirated 4.8L V10. This engine was incredibly nimble, capable of revving from idle to it's 9000rpm redline in 0.6 seconds. Drive from the engine was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed automated manual transmission. Just a total of 450 examples of the base model Lexus LFA were built for the 2012 model year. An additional 50 examples of the LFA were built that featured the track-focused Nürburgring Package.
