Maserati introduced the performance focused GranTurismo S for the 2009 model year. The S was built in a coupe or convertible body style, and was the first GranTurismo variant to feature the 'F136 Y' V8 engine that was built in collaboration with Ferrari. This 4.7L powerplant had an output of 434hp and 361 lb ft of torque which drove the rear wheels via a 6 speed automated manual transmission. Production of the GranTurismo S lasted until 2012, when Maserati introduced the GranTurismo Sport Coupe.
