The McLaren MP4-12C is a high performance sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive, and the first vehicle designed and engineered entirely in house at Mclaren. Introduced for the 2012 model year, the MP4-12C, which was later known simply as the 12C, was built using a carbon fiber composite, and was offered in Coupe and Convertible (Spider) body styles. A 592hp mid-mounted 3.8L twin-turbo V8 powered the MP4-12C, sending power to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Production of the McLaren MP4-12C ended in 2014, when it was replaced by the McLaren 650S.
