The CLK63 AMG was a high performance variant of the Second Generation W209 Mercedes-Benz CLK that was introduced for the 2007 model year. This series of performance cars were available as Coupes or Convertibles, but only the convertible was sold in North America. These cars were powered by Mercedes-AMG's M156 E62 engine. This handbuilt 6.2L V8 engine generated 475hp, which drove the rear wheels via a 7 speed automatic transmission. The CLK 63 AMG was used by Mercedes as the basis for the hardcore CLK63 AMG Black Series. Production of the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG ended in 2009.
