The Mercedes-Benz 450SL was a variant of the R107 SL-Class that was introduced for the 1973 model year. The 450 SL was offered with a 4.5L V8 engine that generated 222hp, which was sent to drive the rear wheels via manual and automatic transmission options. Production of the 450SL lasted until 1980, when the model series was discontinued.
