The MG TD was a variant of the MG T-Type that wore a familiar bodystyle to it's predecessor, the MG TC. Even though sporting a similar design, the TD featured plenty of mechanical differences beneath. Most significant among these differences was the independent front suspension, which provided better roadholding. Paired with this new suspension were smaller and wider 15" wheels, compared to the tall and narrow 19" wire-spoke wheels of the predecessor. Production of the MG TD lasted from 1950 until 1953, when it was replaced by the MG TF.
