The third generation of Mini Cooper was introduced for the 2014 model year. This updated generation of Mini saw the addition of a four door hatchback on top of the already established two door hatchbacks and convertibles. The third generation Mini was slightly larger than its predecessors and featured the notable Cooper (base), Cooper S (sport), and John Cooper Works (high performance) trim levels. The high performance John Cooper Works GP variant was also built for the 2021 model year. A range of turbocharged inline three and inline four engines were fitted, all of which power the front wheels.
