The eighth generation of Oldsmobile 88 was introduced for the 1977 model year. The 88 was known as the Delta 88 during this generation, and was offered in sedan or coupe body styles. The eighth generation 88 was powered by a range of V6 or V8 engines, and was built until 1985 when the Ninth Generation Oldsmobile 88 was introduced.
