The second generation of Pontiac Catalina was introduced for the 1961 model year. The second generation Catalina was offered with a 6.4L or 6.9L V8 engines, although the 6.9L was never fitted at the factory, it was instead installed by GM dealers. The second generation Catalina was available in a wide range of body styles, and was in production until 1964. The second generation Catalina was replaced by the Third Generation Pontiac Catalina.
