While Porsche is famed for their wide range of luxury and sports cars, the company also engineered and built a variety of tractors in the post-WW2 era. Due to manufacturing restrictions in Germany in the post-war era, Porsche's tractor designs had to be licenced out, and built by companies who had previously built tractors. This resulted in Porsche tractors being sold under Allgaier-System Porsche or Hofherr Schrantz-System Porsche names. In 1954, Mannesmann, a German company, purchased the rights to Porsche tractor engines and Allgaier tractor designs, selling them under the name Porsche-Diesel. These tractors were available in four main variants (Junior, Standard, Super, Master), each of which had their own horsepower rating and capabilities. Production of these Porsche-Diesel tractors ended in 1963.
