The E-Series consisted of 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton, 1-1/2 ton, and 2 ton variants, which were available in rear wheel drive, or converted to all wheel drive by NAPCO (North American Parts Company). These trucks were designated by the letter 'E' and a number, 1956 was 2E (2nd Series E), 1957 was 3E, and onward. E-Series trucks were available with two inline six engine and three V8 options, as well as diesel inline three and inline four units. In 1960, Studebaker introduced a new series of light pickups known as the Champ, but larger trucks remained E-Series variants until production ended in late 1963 when Studebaker closed its South Bend factory. Remaining trucks were sold as 1964 models.
