The last and most prestigious Volvo 700 Series car was the 780. The Volvo 780 was introduced in 1986 and was offered as a Bertone designed and built coupe. The 780 featured a lower and more aggressive profile than its 700 Series siblings, and was initially fitted with a 2.8L V8, although towards the end of production a turbocharged inline four unit used. Production of the Volvo 780 continued until 1991.
