The Alpina Roadster S was introduced for 2004. Based on the BMW Z4, the Roadster S applied the Alpina formula of making cars more suited to grand touring. The engine and drivetrain were modified to create a more comfortable experience, although the car was only fitted with a manual transmission in order to maintain a sense of driver connection. Built until 2005, but sold until 2006, only 167 examples were produced, in standard, or Luxury trim.
