One of the first variants for the Mercedes-Benz 190 was the 190. Introduced in 1983, the 190 was the base equivalent, and was powered by Mercedes' M102 V 20 carburated engine. This 2.0L inline four sent 89hp to the rear wheels via manual and automatic transmission options. For the 1985 model year, the M102 V20 engine received an upgrade that resulted in a total of 105hp. Production of the Mercedes-Benz 190 lasted until 1991, when the variant was discontinued.
