Porsche was established in 1931 as an automotive developer and consultant. Founded by the famous Ferdinand Porsche, the company was responsible for the creation of the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/volkswagen/beetle/type-1/">Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle</a>. After WW2, the company finally began producing its own automobiles, starting with the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/356/">Porsche 356</a> in 1948. The 1992 through 1993 Porsche 911 America Roadster&nbsp;is a limited production cabriolet variant of the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/911/964/carrera-2/">964 Carrera 2</a> with a Turbo body, intended for the North American market. It had the same mechanical setup as the Carrera 2, but its fender flares, brakes, suspension, and wheels were upgraded to Turbo-spec. Although production numbers are spotty, they are estimated at 250 samples. The ROW version is known as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/911/964/carrera-2/cabriolet-widebody/">964 Carrera 2 &#39;Turbo-look&#39;</a>.

The 1992 to 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet &#39;Turbo-Look&#39; (a/k/a widebody)&nbsp;is a limited production variant of the 964 series.&nbsp;Approximately 1,200 were produced, of which 400 were built with Tiptronic transmission and the rest were 5-speed manual.&nbsp;The US-bound version was known as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/911/964/carrera-2/america-roadster/">America Roadster</a>.&nbsp;
