About this 1982 Porsche 911 SC

VIN: WP0AA0911CS121075

1982 Porsche 911SC Chassis No. WP0AA911CS121075 Engine No. *64C2002* Transmission No. 74C2047 Exterior Color Grand Prix White Interior Color Dark Blue leather Engine 3.0 Liter 6-cylinder air cooled with Bosch fuel-injection Transmission 5-speed manual Current Miles 110,565 miles General History Introduced in 1978, the SC variant of the 911 referenced the former performance variant of the 356. Lacking a Carrera version of the 911SC the SC designation was assigned as Super Carrera and packed with the 3.0-liter Bosch injected engine and 915 5-speed manual transmission a package that would prove to be among the most durable and iconic of the late series 911 models. As the concurrently developed 928 was intended to be the replacement for the 911, Porsche was poised on making an historically important decision to remove the 911 from future production. Thankfully for decades of enthusiasts, the 911 remained in production in part because the 911 had evolved very well during this period, proven by sales which continued to increase well beyond company expectations. Desirable when first released, today the SC continues to be sought after by collectors who appreciate the balance of air-cooled, manual gearbox, captured in the iconic 911 body design. General Overview This 911 was purchased new at Porsche Audi Classic Motors in Vallejo, California on March 19, 1982. A copy of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity indicates the car was completed January 30, 1982, finished in Grand Prix White and trimmed with blue leather interior. Options included: Electric sliding roof California emissions Sport sets L/R Forged alloy wheels Cruise control Sport shock absorbers Brake pads w/abrasive pads Rectangular fog lights Pirelli tires The original warranty and maintenance booklet accompanying the car contains service stamps showing accumulated mileage from 1982 with dealer services up to December 1983 at 21,796 miles when a major service was performed at Valhalla Automotive. Parts and service records accompanying this Porsche begin in 2009 with miles recorded in 2012 at 106,393. In 2o14, the current and second California owner, a well-regarded vintage car enthusiast, purchased this 911 with 107,728 miles indicated on the six digit odometer. At that time the current owner freshened the car mechanically including a major service, a new distributor cap, rotor, clutch release seal, new throttle bushings, a new Hirschman antenna, and the headlight assemblies refinished, resealed, and new drain tubes installed. Over the years, the car was occasionally driven, but miles kept to a minimum due to being part of a collection of other vintage vehicles. In 2022 a set of Pirelli Cinturato 205/55 front and 225/50 R16 rear tires were installed, an oil change and brake fluid flush performed in September 2024 with 109,963 miles, and a new oil pressure sender installed in December 2025 with 110,392 miles indicated. General Condition Today this Porsche 911 indicates 110,565, which are believed to be correct from new. Originally delivered to California with California emissions installed, the car still wears the original California blue and gold license plate. Overall, this 911SC offers high quality preserved original finishes and driver level cosmetics including paint that has been well maintained showing good gloss and smooth finishes throughout, with only a few minor chips and mild signs of age. The lenses, lighting, bumpers, accordion rubbers, various trim and script are all in excellent condition contributing to the overall original presentation. The panel gaps are consistent showing excellent closures and tight fit, even for both doors which retain that desirable Porsche Ping when closed. The car is outfitted with a set of original Porsche Fuchs wheels with Pirelli Cinturato 205/55 front and 225/50 R16 rear tires installed in 2022. The interior presents in excellent condition including the dark blue leather trimmed factory optioned left and right Sport Seats, blue door panels, and blue headliner, all of which are original. A black sunroof cover is installed on the inside, likely a replacement under prior ownership. The door panels, carpeting, and blue center console, also have excellent cosmetics and soft feel to the finishes. The dashboard is quite nice, featuring clean and nicely detailed instruments with excellent color and contrast, black upper dash padding and dark blue lower dash trim, and a correct black steering wheel. The car is outfitted with the original matching numbers 5-speed transmission, factory air conditioning (currently not operational), a functional factory power sunroof, an uprated JVC KD-HRD50 single CD stereo, a functional retractable Hirschman antenna, and folding rear seats. Although the windshield has two small stone chips, the side glass, vent glass, rear quarter glass, and rear window all bear the original Sekurit glass brand etches and remain in excellent condition. Under the hood, the engine bay delivers a correct presentation reflective of original specifications. The engine is stamped with the matching number 64C2002 consistent with the Porsche CoA. Both the engine and the engine compartment are clean and well maintained displaying correct finishes having gently aged over the years. The factory optional air conditioning is complete and in place, but the drive belt has been removed. The front storage compartment is clean and well-maintained, housing an original collapsing spare tire and proper finishes consistent with original cars including the factory VIN which is stamped in the correct location. The undercarriage is representative of an unrestored original 911 with sound floor pans, front and rear disc brakes, correct suspension components, and correct 915 series 5-speed gearbox stamped with the matching number corresponding with the Porsche CoA. The car starts, stops, and drives very well. Optioned from the factory with air conditioning, the air conditioning system does not currently deliver conditioned air, however the fan blower does operate on the heat setting (warm air to cabin) and outside air settings when the blower and adjustable temperature settings are activated. The engine pulls strong in all gears, the shifter works smoothly, and the brakes operate well on a tall pedal. In all, this is a nicely maintained original 911SC ideal for the motoring enthusiast to enjoy as is, participate in local Porsche events, and delight in the pleasure of one of the most iconic rear engine, air-cooled, five-speed manual Porsches ever built. Items Included with the Car This Porsche is accompanied by a tool roll and tools, a set of original owners manuals and red Porsche slip case, service gloves and factory plastic wrapping, two sets of keys, a leather dye kit and leather cream, a spare interior switch, Porsche 911 alloy wheel lug nut lock sockets, a pair of Porsche branded floor mats, copies of service documents dating back to 2009, and a copy of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
