The seventh generation of Chevrolet Suburban was introduced for the 1973 model year. This generation of Suburban was the first to feature a four door SUV body style, as previously only two or three door versions had been offered. These Suburbans were based on the Chevrolet C/K platform, and were available in rear or all wheel drive, and were powered by a range of inline six and V8 engines. Trim levels included the base 'Scottsdale' and premium 'Silverado.' Chevrolet built the seventh generation until 1991, and replaced it with the Eighth Generation Chevrolet Suburban.
