Debuting in 1989 the 928 GT was a variant in the line of 928s. It weighed less than its brother, the S4, and was more performance-focused. The GT was given a front-mounted 5.0L V8, which delivered its power through a five-speed transaxle only available as a manual on the GT. The power unit delivered 330hp to the rear wheels making it capable of 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Porsche halted production at the end of the 1991 model year, making way for the final version of the 928, the Porsche 928 GTS.
