The Alpine GTA, which was also known as the Renault GTA in the UK, was a series of sports cars that were introduced in 1985. The GTA was the first Alpine branded car to be developed under new Renault ownership, and was offered as a two door, 2+2 coupe. These sporty cars were powered by a rear mounted V6 engine, sending drive to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual transmission. Either a 2.8L naturally aspirated V6 or a 2.5L turbocharged V6 powerplant were offered on the GTA, which was built until 1991 and replaced by the Alpine A610.
