The AMC Eagle was a series of compact crossovers introduced for the 1980 model year. The Eagle is recognized as one of the earliest crossover models, with body styles inspired by the AMC Concord, but featuring four wheel drive and a more rugged platform. The Eagle was offered with a selection of inline four and inline six engines, and was in production until 1988.
