The second generation Aston Martin Vanquish was unveiled in 2012. Reborn after a 4 year hiatus, the second generation Vanquish replaced the DBS V12 as Aston Martin's flagship model. These second gen cars were designed by Marek Reichman and fitted with a 5.9L V12, yet cars built after 2014 were fitted with a more powerful version of the same engine. Unlike the previous generation, these new cars were available as the convertible Volante starting in 2013. Although the majority of production was of the Base Model, a powerful Vanquish S model was available near the end of production. Production of the standard 2nd Gen Aston Martin Vanquish ended in 2018, but a special run of cars built in collaboration with Zagato were built until 2019. These rare cars are known as the Vanquish Zagato.
