The third generation Audi 100 was introduced for the 1983 model year. The third generation of Audi 100 was known as the C3. Like its predecessor, this generation of 100 featured the Audi 200 as a high end variant, and was known as the 5000 in the U.S. market. The C3 Audi 100 was offered as a sedan or 'Avant' station wagon, and was powered by a range of inline four and inline five engines. Production of the C3 100 ended in 1991, with the model replaced by the Fourth Generation Audi 100.
