The 525i was a variant of the BMW E60 5 Series that was introduced for the 2004 model year. The 525i was offered in sedan and touring (station wagon) body styles, and over the course of production was powered by two BMW engines. Initially, the E60 525i was fitted with BMW's M54B25 inline six (188hp) but for 2006, this engine was replaced by the more powerful N52B25 inline six unit (215hp). Production of the E60 525i lasted until 2010, when the model series was discontinued.
