The second generation of BMW X5 was introduced for the 2007 model year. Known as the E70, the second generation X5 featured updates styling as well as a new interior. Available in 2 or 4 wheel drive variants, the E70 was offered with a variety of V6 and V8 engines. The E70 featured the first X5 M, which was the first all-wheel drive vehicle tuned by BMW M. Built until 2013, the E70 was replaced by the F15 for the 2014 model year.
