BMW introduced the Z3 Coupe in 1998. The coupe was the second body style offered for the BMW Z3, and it was known internally at BMW by the code E36/8. Sporting its shooting brake styling, the Z3 coupe had a front mounted engine with power driving the rear wheels. Offered with a variety of inline four and inline six engines, the Z3 coupe was built in two variants: 2.8 and 3.0i. The top of the line Z3 M Coupe was introduced in 1999.
