Bugatti introduced their well known and much loved Type 57 in 1934. The Type 57 was designed by founder Ettore Bugatti's son, Jean Bugatti. An entirely new design, the Type 57 was offered in a variety of body styles and also featured coachwork by various well known coachbuilers. Two main variants of the Type 57 were built: the Base Type 57, and the Type 57S, which featured a lowered chassis. (The 'S' stands for surbaissé, meaning lowered). Bugatti would also introduced a 'C' variant of both types, creating the Type 57C, and the Type 57 SC. These 'C' cars were fitted with a roots-type supercharger (The 'C' stands for compresseur, a name for superchargers in French). Bugatti Type 57 cars hold a very special place in automotive history and folklore, not only advanced stylistically, they were some of the fastest and most luxurious cars in the world during their production. With less than 800 total examples produced, the Type 57 has the rarity, heritage, and performance to make them some of the most desired cars in the world.
