The fourth generation Buick Special was introduced for the 1964 model year and was available as a coupe, sedan, convertible, or station wagon. The fourth generation was the last generation of Special produced and was powered by V6 or V8 engine options. Production of the fourth generation Special ended in 1969. After 1969, the Special name would continue to see use by Buick, but only as a designator for the entry level trim level.
