The 4th Gen Chevrolet Biscayne picked up where the 3rd gen left off. Chevrolet was driving sales with their flagship of Impala, but still had a need for a entry level model for those famlies that needed basic trasportation. Models like the Biscayne and Bel Air served to fill in the gaps, with 2 door and 4 door sedans and wagons. The Biscayne also served those on the commercial side for fleet orders, like taxis, and police cruisers. Many Chevrolet engines were avaiable, and savvy buyers and dealers ordered some models with small block V8 power, or some snuck in a 396 or the mighty 427 L72 to the order form. The 4th Gen Biscaynne ended in 1970. The 5th Gen Biscayne would continue tradtion and production till 1975.
