The second generation of Chevrolet Caprice debuted for the 1971 model year. The second generation Caprice saw the model grow in size, becoming the largest full-size model ever offered by Chevrolet. A range of body styles were available, including coupe, hardtop, convertible, and station wagon. Over the course of production, both small block and big block V8 options were available. Chevrolet built the second generation until 1976, when it was succeeded by the Third Generation Caprice.
