Alongside the SS and Malibu, a range of standard variants were produced as part of the 2nd Gen Chevelle. The Chevelle 300 actually expanded with the deluxe series and you could now order a SS-396 from the base platform, although 1969 would be the last year for the 300 Deluxe (except for Canada). 1970 introduced wagon buyers to the Chevelle Concours/ Concours Estate, the Chevelle Greenbrier, and the Nomad namplate returned but this time as the base 4 door Chevelle wagon only. For 1971 and 1972 while Chevrolet offered a 350 V8 in the SS, they also introduced the budget friendly Heavy Chevy model, which was a stripped down 2 door hardtop, that could be ordered with any V8 except the 454. The Chevelle would continue with revisions and new model offerings in the 3rd Gen Chevelle.
